Napowrimo Day 2: Stars

Today’s prompt is to write a poem about the stars/constellations! Also included: an Easter egg tribute to T. Swift. So here we go!

“misguided under the stars”

star-crossed lovers starbucks’ lovers
mishearing lyrics misreading signs
always lost in a sea of maps
déjà vu below storybook skies

she was born a leo though she felt
like a pisces out of water
fell hard for a taurus but soon learned
the stars were all laughing at her

she sailed the heav’ns to horizon’s edge
climbed on orion’s belt for some peace
then hopped a ride on delphinus
found fleeting pleasure in virgo’s wheat

star-doomed chasers star-famished hunters
crooning ballads writing heartbreak
forever missing in this mad swarm
fated to repeat the same mistakes

A beautifully written poem – thought-provoking, too. I like how you used the subject of stars in a complex manner.
