Be kind to yourself, my girl
And listen to the songs
Of sunrises and dreams you’ve missed
Find that child you were
She was never lost
She may not believe in you
But tell her you believe in her
Treat her to weekend brunches
And eat without thinking about her weight
Give her permission to be who she is
Not who she thought she had to be
Surround her with kittens and books and warm blankets and tea
And let her imagination create and fly
Leave the critics outside the door
Keep her head clear of their lies
But most of all, give her love
Make her believe she is worth it
She has nothing to prove to anyone
She’s more than enough as she is
