Napowrimo 2020 Day 3

Prompt: Come up with a list of ten words, then look for rhymes to compile a word bank, and write a poem with those words.

a handsome ghost did play her a fool
a tragic romance
a wild goose dance
she played with the fantasies
of imagined circumstance
conjured in her mind

brittle reality broke that dream
shattered her feelings
splintered into a million pieces
those bloodied wounds she kept unseen
ashamed to have fancied
a mythical dream

took months to restore her inner Zen
she cried, “never shall I be played again.”
she began to comprehend
reality couldn’t be lived inside her head
and the ghost returned visible
this time a friend
