Napowrimo 2020 Day 21

Day 21 Prompt: Take a poem from another language and translate it the way it sounds. Here’s my attempt with a Norwegian poem.

Men når du er framme ved det som rører deg
rører det deg ikkje
lenger

likevel er det alltid noe som vil
røre ved deg

I går stod du inneklemt i eit ord
nesten uten å kunne puste
I dag kan du kanskje seie det, og
i morgon vil det vere eit nesten umerkeleg
fargeskifte i alt som blei sagt

© Eldrid Lunden

men are doomed from vanity
some roar dead
rearing death and decay
linger

like velvet dots all to
know some vile
roaming red devil

I stood innocence in order
nestled under calming pastels
I drank to cancel sacred death, oh
I mourn vile devils and set eastward
unmarked logs
forgotten skiffs
I am the somber blue sky
